Kansas and the cray-cray

Stephanie Clayton mentioned on twitter that a constituent asked her to please keep fighting

It seems crazy in the legislature, and the more everyday people ignore it, the more crazy it gets.

Except it’s not crazy. It is strengthening the empire of the wealthy.

I came across this post from Inc. magazine: “12 Things That Successful Leaders Never Tolerate” by Lolly Daskal

Number 1 on the list: Dishonesty

Guess what our shadily elected GOP leaders in the state government are skilled at?

Over & over, when asked during committee testimonials ‘Who funds your research?’ Committee Chairs have stepped in to shut down the questioner. Some conservative lobbyists have even gone so far as to eschew composure and scream & yell at people giving testimony in opposition to their Koch sponsored bills.

Americans for Prosperity, the American Legislative Exchange Council, and many other extreme conservatives have hi-jacked our state government, and will continue on course to create a poor working class in Kansas.

I know you may not want to know, but you need to know. This will affect you. Like a festering wound.

If We the People do not continue to RISE UP as the people did during the Civil Rights movement, we will continue to see insane injustices across all walks of life. We will continue to see young men wrongfully imprisoned. We will continue to see increased poverty and crime. We will continue to see our public schools fail due to lack of resources and development.

The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off! If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention!

There is still time, give your boss two-weeks notice and take a personal day on March 30th. Join me and GameOn for Kansas Schools at the Statehouse. Talk to your legislators. Quit watching the scripted crazy shows like Housewives of Atlanta or Survivor or whatever, and start watching the real-life crazy in our statehouse.

Check out the #ksleg on twitter, and get off your ass!
